Man, the time is flying, and that’s with life currently in lazy, mellow mode. I’ve been buried in books, the end of the Olympics, British TV murder series, and a little bit of glass work. I made another wind chime and although I’m not overly thrilled with it, it was fun to see how that special crazy-color gaudy dichroic glass would look in a larger project (it’s usually used in jewelry because it’s pricey stuff). I have yet to hang it outside (no free hooks yet, plus lots of rain, wind, and even snow), but here’s an indoor pic:
It’s hard to capture a photo of dichroic because it’s so glow-y and metallic. It’s not transparent, but I think sunshine would still make it pop. I have one more wind chime frame and I think it’ll be more in line with the original one I made. I’m also motivated to see if I can somewhat replicate this bowl someone posted on the fused glass Facebook page I follow:
Isn’t that gorgeous? I don’t think it would be too difficult (albeit tedious), except for nipping all those thousands pieces of glass! (My wrist hurts just thinking about that effort!) I also have a mold that I think would work really well for it.
Speaking of motivation: I need to muster some up! The house really needs cleaning and I keep putting it off (I’m almost done with this book! I’m really into this OTHER book! Shiny things! SQUIRREL!!) I also need to drastically tidy up de-clutter my glass studio. Argh.
AND…full disclosure: I can’t turn away from this train wreck that is this White House and the Russian investigation. Every. Single. Day. there is breaking news and astounding revelations. Never has there been such craven corruption, such blatant disregard for ethics, such absolute INSANITY. Five felons so far, four with guilty pleas! Unprecedented firings and resignations. Incessant and pathological lying from every corner of the administration regime. Special Prosecutor Mueller is very obviously tightening the noose and closing in on the White House, and as a result, trump has spent this week throwing his feces against the walls of the Oval Office. STAY TUNED. POP SOME POPCORN.
And then there’s Quinn!! He was 5 months old on Feb. 18th:
Yes, I want to kiss him all over!
He’s a big boy! Weighs about 18 lbs. (he has a checkup coming up and we’ll soon know for sure). He’s loving his solid food. He giggles a LOT. I’m going to insert a couple of short videos:
