The hottest June on record, and the driest May-June on record. In fact, they just now said on the news that we’ve had 18 straight months of above-normal temperatures. Part of me is basking in this because 1) it’s beautiful out there, and 2) we have central air conditioning in the house and it is a godsend. It is oppressive—92° today and it’s been hovering around that temp for the last several days, with lots more to come. Including the 4th of July weekend when Helen and her husband Ron come to visit. No, you won’t catch me in a swimming suit, but I’m pretty sure I can come up with something to wear (that hides things) that will work just fine in the salt water!
It’s been yet another spinning week, heading to the Des Moines house for more emptying (wow, it’s getting there!), intercepting Mojo trying to haul dead/captured critters inside the house to disembowel, some successes [and a number of failures] in the glass kiln, updating my Artfire shop with a few new items, and progress on the master closet and shop. The master bathroom is finally completed!
And John has finished the walk-in closet! He’s currently working on my vanity area in there, situated behind me (drawers, cupboards, makeup table, mirror, lighting). It’s such an awesome space, and it’s just a couple of steps away from the washer and dryer. (Yep, I insisted on THAT way back when we were designing the house).
It’s been a full year now since I’ve been a curly girl. [Shout out to my cousin, Sheri: I tried that Ice gel you recommended today for the first time and I like it!]
