What a weekend! Oh, we so needed this!
(Be sure to embiggen the pics!)
My brother, Dave, came to visit for the day yesterday and we had a wonderful time! He hadn’t been here to Harstine since before John had even begun to cut down the trees to begin the process of building this house. He’s seen photos of the progress, but it really isn’t the same as seeing it with your own eyes.
John continued to work on installing the hardwood flooring while Dave and I chatted it up on the trailer deck over a few beers. It’s coming along!
We love it! (I’ve even Swiffered some of it already…)
Also in the meantime, our sider guy, Lee, and his helper, Dana, worked on staining the siding and painting the trim:
Dave and I (and four dogs) took a beach walk and I took some pics of the house—you can really see the difference between the stained and non-stained areas (the garage on the left hadn’t been stained yet) Definitely embiggen!
Get a load of all that blue sky!
(Two dachshunds, a pug, and a Yorkie).
Then. THEN! We had our first meal in the house! John barbequed steaks on our new grill:
I baked potatoes in the trailer oven and made a salad, and we hauled everything we needed in the cooler down to the house. And we ate in the glass studio on the new deck furniture!
It was completely awesome!
