*Which is the title of one of my most favorite books, by the way.
I had to attend a “Lunch & Learn” at work today, led by (you guessed it) Chucklehead. I remember back in October when I had to attend the “Business Development” off-site company conference (that he also led) and on Day Two I took my notebook and made hash marks during a 10-minute snapshot of time of how many times he said the word “RIGHT?”
47 times.
Today I didn’t have a notebook, but in the 45 minutes or so he bloviated, I’m certain the ratio was spot on. Which would have meant right around 200 times.
“We sell trust, right? And what the client expects is what? To trust us, right? And we can’t just say we’re trustworthy, we have to earn that trust, right? We have to consider those headwinds and tailwinds and deep dive…blah blah blah blah blah…right?”
Yeah. The gagging hasn’t diminished. One bit.
Learned the last two proposals I did at work were winners! That’s always a good feeling. I obviously can’t take full credit, but I can certainly take A GOOD AMOUND OF CREDIT!
John’s bonzai run down to Harstine yesterday was a bit of a bust, as a migraine nipped things in the bud. He did manage to install three more flooring cartons, but ran into some complications that a migraine just can’t deal with. He’ll be down there all next week (after working at da job this weekend). As for me this weekend? Tons of laundry, and my hope to have a block of time to work on glass projects was dashed as I’ll likely be working on the registration form for our class reunion. Which is fine. Except I really miss working on glass projects. Just no blocks of time these days.
I was wondering about the “Good Times” part of this, and what I would include about THAT! And out of the blue, THIS came up on Facebook and boy does it ever fit the bill! A former shipmate of Nate’s posted a promotional photo from the TNT movie (actually a TV pilot) coming out this June that was filmed on Nate’s former ship—the USS Halsey—about a year ago. It’s called “The Last Ship” and it stars Adam Baldwin (ew) and Eric Dane (mm). It’s apparently a pilot for a television series on TNT, and it’s about an apocalyptic epidemic. Here’s the promotional photo that Nate’s former shipmate posted:
Get a load of that pale guy right smack in the center. They are supposed to be “sick” so I guess that fits!
I’ve posted this before (back during the filming), but here’s a pic of Nate and Eric Dane:
Pretty cool!
