Remember this? (Before firing):
It turned out like this. (However, I wish I had a window in the daylight to hold it against so you can see how it sparkles, but daylight won’t be happening for a while, as I leave for work in the dark and drive home in the dark…)
For my first attempt, I’m pretty pleased with it, except there is one goof. Can you see it?
Here’s a hint:
Yeah, a little piece of the dark aqua rolled off during firing and formed a little dark aqua “dot.”
There are a couple of minor things I’ll do differently next time. I also need to figure out a way to attach a hanger.
This pic helps a little. Maybe.
So last week was all about the broken dishwasher. Last night, while John was enjoying his beloved “Gold Rush,” the 50” flat screen TV did the POP of death. (Yeah, pour it on). We had this happen once before and since John has a history of being an electronics tech in the Air Force and also for 25+ years at Da Airplane Company before becoming a manager, he was able to fix it. That was a few years ago and it was a whole lot cheaper than running out and buying a new TV at that time—they still hadn’t significantly come down in price then. But now…guess we’ll be buying a new TV. Eventually.
Ever notice what a financial suck life is?
We bought paint last night for the mud room, pantry, and studio. (Squeee!) The mudroom and pantry will be a soft slate blue, and the studio will be a dusty sage. John headed back down to Harstine this morning for the week, and tonight he called to tell me he’s installed the vinyl flooring in the pantry (which will also go in the studio and mudroom, as those rooms don’t need hardwood flooring). He didn’t take a picture because he didn’t have his phone with him (and he/it would’ve drowned if he’d run up to the trailer in the UNRELENTING POURING RAIN to get it), but he said it looks really nice. Probably photos tomorrow.
Did I mention that the rain is absolutely relentless? My drive home tonight was all about white knuckles.
I hate November.
