Hey, even after eating WELL on our (wet) four-day vacation to the Oregon Coast (lots of seafood, but not particularly prepared in any type of "lean" manner), I still managed to lose half a pound last week. I can see the difference (can you?) from last October until now. I didn't actually get serious about losing the weight until early February, but it's kind of interesting what a difference just 12.5 lbs. can make. (I may have actually been heavier back in October, though -- I wouldn't know. I wouldn't go near a scale). I have to say, I truly haven't suffered. I've never been a big fan of sweets. My downfall is the salty/fatty stuff, like chips & dip. I do kind of miss that. But Trader Joe's offers a lot of low-fat substitutes that I find totally appealing. And I don't even go that route all that often because I'm really enjoying the healthier stuff. I never would have thought I'd be pleasantly satisfied having a bunch of those grape tomatoes for a snack. Or actual grapes -- after freezing them! Num! Who needs ice cream?
Today was the epitome of Spring. It smelled like cut grass and flowers. I heard something amazing about Atlanta, Georgia on the news. "Normal" pollen count there this time of year is around 20. "High" is considered 150. Today it was 6,000. That's Six Thousand. WTF? I have a couple of blogger buddies from those parts and I'd love to hear how you all fared! That just seems incredible. If you never suffered from allergies before, you would now, ya think?
Ahh, tomorrow's Friday. For just a four-day work week, this has really drug, although it's weird because the days themselves have flown. I've been really really busy.
Heading to Harstine Island tomorrow night! The weather is not supposed to be stellar by any means, but we've got to check out those bird feeders. I'm especially intrigued to see how the Big One has held up. It had best NOT be out of seed! Jeeze, I'd go broke in short order if it was. (It took many POUNDS to fill that sucker up!)
