A couple of updates: First, how did the (proposal from hell) presentation go you ask? Well... apparently the cable between the laptop and the projector died in the midst of the Powerpoint presentation. When I heard this, I headed under my work area in my cubicle to curl up into the fetal position for about, oh, six months. But then they told me that ultimately the interview went really well because they were able to illustrate how quickly they think on their feet and their ability to improvise. They were not really upset about it at all! (The very idea makes me quake!) They said it allowed for a lot more eye-contact and one-on-one interchange with the selection committee members. However, we have yet to hear whether or not we've been awarded the job.
Then, Kinkos pretty much came through with my class reunion postcards. I was picturing them printed on glossy cardstock, though, and they weren't. That was disappointing. But they're OK, and they were ready to be picked up when they said they'd be. Then I had to figure out Mail Merge so I could print labels from Word from the class list in Excel. I've never done that before, but I managed it! I was pretty tickled with myself. So... the "Save the Date" postcards have been mailed to the 120 class members we've been able to find addresses for. Hopefully this will spur them to contact others so we can add to our list. I believe we had over 300 graduates.
Pretty mountain, huh?
